For countless generations, womxn have been building upon each other's progress to get us to where we are today, to where all of this is possible. I'm endlessly grateful for the strength and wisdom that came before me to make my voice heard - most of all, my mother.
Participating in this movement is fundamental to fighting for all injustices, all oppressions. In the wake of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Tony McDade and so many other Black lives murdered, it is crucial to connect and prosecute all incidents of hate and violence in order to address the full systematic teachings and actions of racism, misogyny, and classism, among others. We fight for all or we fight for none.

I came to the US in my early 20’s. I grew up in a country (UK) with free health care and when I came here I relied on PP for care. It was a crucial and caring resource and everybody. deserves that.
So when this opportunity came about It was very important to me that my song include multiple voices. I wanted a chorus of bad ass womxn to be heard.

Some voices are not taken seriously unless they've been amplified.
When we gather in a large group, we can help louden each other's stories and make sure they reach an audience.
Within this movement, with or without song, each story deserves to be understood. I am proud to be a part of a project helping to turn up the volume, moving us closer to a day when no one has to sing this loud just to make sure they're listened to.
As a woman, as a mother, I believe deeply in the absolute right to bodily integrity. I want my children - I want all children - to grow up in a world where they feel safe, secure, known, valued and also empowered, emboldened to speak their hearts and minds.

Written and recorded in our home studio in Saint Paul, MN while I was 9 months pregnant during a global pandemic as the world began to reckon with the truth that Black Lives Matter.
I’m a part of this project to stand in solidarity with and support of those who have experienced the trauma of abuse and assault. I gave birth to our daughter in April 2020. I want a world in which both she and my 4-year-old son grow up to know consent, love, equity, climate justice, and empowerment as humanity’s guiding principles. Thanks for listening.

I wanted to be a part of this album to contribute to the efforts of lifting up the voices of those who have been silenced. You are not alone. I hope this album can be a part of the movement towards a safer music community.
